Proud Products of The Soil: A Gloriously Fertile Dialogue! – Watermelon

It is made of water, it needs no dilution or cooling, it will quench your thirst and put you at ease in a matter of minutes, when you think of the attributes of watermelon, you probably will see why it is the sweet fat old lady, who is never old. It never ages nor does it go out of season, dating back to early BCE, the watermelon was a favorite of the dessert dwellers.

It can weigh up to 100 pds, it is interesting that a plant grown in the hot climate retains such cool and calm nature, yet presents fiery domineering image, it can truly pass as the epitome of deception. It stays green on the outside, yet it will always be pinkish red on the inside.  

 Don’t be fooled by it’s plump delicate nature. If you mistreat it you are likely suffer extreme dehydration. Africans, Arabs, and dessert dweller know and cherish and know the value of one or a few slices of juicy delicious watermelon. On most days of the year one watermelon can serve and quench the thirst of an entire platoon, some watermelons can weigh almost 50pds, almost 30 inches in length. 

 Please do not offend the watermelon and believe you will get away and not hear about it in the future or from an unlikely source or feel the effect of an open-ended incident. Why? You ask, they are all over the place and everywhere. There are over 1200 varieties of the Watermelon, such a large family should not be toyed with.

If you were to say goodbye to a watermelon it would probably smile and say “No, my dear friend, it is see you later, since I will be everywhere you will be’. And while you are still pondering such an unusual response do not be surprised when on an unplanned trip or a well arranged and preplanned trip to a nearby city or to a far flung corner of the world the “watermelon shows up smiling effortlessly saying to you ‘welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy your trip’.
