Arrogant, Deceptive, Delicate and Positively Potent:
It is small and round, like a nut, but it is not a nut, it is valueless until you rip it in two. If you step on it, it would probably be smashed to pieces. If you smash it under your feet, you will most likely never get rid of the distinct ox blood color from the sole of your shoes.
It’s lack of clout and popularity is compensated for, by it’s tenacity, sticking to anything it comes in touch with, whether it was invited, intentional, or accidental. Everyone or thing touching it will retain its bloody signature for a long, long time. If you tell the beetroot, ‘you are cheap and simple’, it would probably respond ‘I grow fast, I do not take up space, I am ready and a light weight, I am nimble, I am sweet’, and it may have much more to boast about. Beets can be delicious, yet it is messy.
Beet measures 8 centimeters, yet you do not need to eat more than one at a time. It is rich in folate and magnesium, so before you throw it into sink recycler as useless intruder on your plate, think of what it might do to your heart. If you were a little patient and listened to the beet, it might tell you that as early as 800 BC, it has been used and adored in many cultures. And if you were to ask where and in what cultures it was present and used; it’s response would probably be ‘is there any culture that did not know and use me?
Beetroot is not seasonal, although thrives in light and medium sunlight, It can grow anywhere there is warmth, light and shallow soil. It is not restricted to any place or region. The beetroot for all it’s great qualities is arrogant, deceptive and delicate. So deceptive it is that you could not say for certain how old it is, not by it’s nimble size or by it’s perpetually crimson red color, since there is no unripe color for beetroot. It was red yesterday, the day before and it will be red tomorrow. Beware beet is small, but positively potent
